Amazing ....

Think Spring!

We wanted to do an art craft that the Grandparents could enjoy.  So we thought doing something fun with hand prints....

Now, two of the kids have major sensory issues......

Nathan was almost in tears from his hands being dirty.. we had to do one had at a time and he had to have that hand washed right away ...  he did three.  One for our fridge, one for Nana & Papa and one for Daddy's Mom.......  we gotta do another one for my Dad and Step Mom - but I had to give him a break.

Noah did all of his ...... and he had more to do, one to send to his bio-Dad, to his Dad's dad, and his Dad's Grandma (his Dad's mom died in 2012) ...   but Noah was "am I done now, can I wash my hands now?" ... LOL...

(Noah's are red, Nathan's are blue)

When Kaedyn got home from school, we did his.... he of course has no sensory issues and loved it!

And then he immediately wanted to paint something ... and Nathan joined in ...

And here is our gallery of art.......

Found a SLEW of Workbooks at ......

Today I went to the dollar store with the intention of ONLY BUYING a few things, just a couple of workbooks for the kids to do.  Since Nathan has been home so much this winter season I wanted to find some things for him to do.... and Kaedyn too because he gets jealous when Noah is doing homework and he won't let him "HELP" ... ha ha ....

So this is what I found.... not everything is for the Little's though (Nathan and Kaedyn) ... some is for Noah.

This is the stack I came home with ....

And then I found a bag of stuff I had found in the dollar section at Target a long time ago that I forgot about....

Art Project Fail

So I saw this cool project on Pinterest .......

So the whole premise was to use markers - color on coffee filters - and then spray them with water and watch how they change.......

Well, ours didn't work like that ....

This is the first one I did - as an example - to show the kids....

Nathan's first one

Kaedyn's first one ....

This one was done by me and Nathan (Nathan told me what he wanted)

Mom's

Kaedyn's

Kaedyn's again

This one Mom did - it was dictated by Kaedyn

Mom's

Noah's

Noah's ... he was drawing Pokemon

Kaedyn working on his and showing his favorite (All of them)

Nathan working on his and showing his favorite

Noah working on his and showing his favorite

So we used all the markers we had, including permanent markers ....  big mistake!  HA HA HA ... this is a major dur moment ... .

You would think - thinking about it - permanent markers won't bleed....

But I wasn't thinking (much) I guess....   I laid them all out ...

Sprayed them with water ...... and waited ...

Funny enough, it was the permanent marker that ran on a lot of them, at least a little bit, it was the other (cheap markers I got from the dollar store) that didn't...

LESSON LEARNED:  When we RE-DO this Art Project, USE WASHABLE MARKERS!  HA HA HA
